液晶部材メーカー
◎液晶テレビ向けの主力製品である３２型液晶パネルの価格は、０７年４月に（取引市場が形成された０２年以降で初めて）反発に転じ、その後も値上がりを続けている。上昇ペースは緩やかだが、０７年初から価格が５分の１以下に急落したDRAM と比べると、その値動きの堅調さが際立っている。価格上昇の背景としては、液晶パネルメーカーの生産調整により需給バランスがタイト化、液晶テレビなど最終製品需要が想定を上回るペースで伸長していること、の２点が主因として挙げられよう。通常、年末商戦明けの１-３月期は、液晶パネルを含めハイテク製品の需要が一巡するタイミングに当たる。ただし、０８年は８月に北京オリンピックを控えており、年明け後も液晶テレビメーカーの生産意欲は衰えないと見られる。０８年１-３月期も液晶パネル需要は堅調に推移する可能性が高い。また、これまで液晶テレビは先進国中心に普及が進んできたが、今後は中国やインドなど経済発展が続く新興国でも本格的な市場拡大期を迎える見通しである。なかでも、北京オリンピック需要を見込んだ中国のテレビメーカーが液晶パネルの調達を積極化している模様。膨大な人口を抱える新興国の液晶テレビ市場が立ち上がることで、今後も液晶パネル需要は堅調な拡大を続けることになろう。液晶パネル価格が上昇に転じたことで、パネルメーカーの収益性が急回復している。一方、液晶関連部材の事業環境は一様ではなく、圧倒的な高シェアを背景に、０６年来の生産調整局面においても価格下落圧力が少なく、堅調な収益拡大を実現してきた部材（PVA フィルムなど）。価格下落に苦しんできたが、液晶パネルメーカーの業績改善に連動するかたちで回復感が出てきた部材（偏光板など）。過当競争が続いており、引き続き価格下落が続く見通しの部材（バックライトなど）の３つに区分される。今後の収益拡大が期待される液晶部材メーカーとしては偏光板を手がけるに日東電工、住友化学、綜研化学。ＴＡＣフィルムの富士フィルム、コニカミノルタ、ダイセル。ＰＶＡフィルムのクラレ、日本合成。表面保護フィルムの藤森工業。ガラス基板で旭硝子。ＴＦＴ液晶の大日本インキ。配向膜で日産化学。ＩＴＯ（インジウムとスズの複合酸化物）ターゲットの新日鉱Ｈなど。
