後場寄りは、中国人民銀行（中央銀行）の預金準備率０．５％引き上げ（２５日から実施）発表を受け、中国・上海総合指数安に続いて、香港・ハンセン指数も下落し、先物売りに押される形で、午後１時２分に１万３４７２円４５銭（前日比３２円６銭安）まで下押す場面があった。
市場では、「海外経由で主力株に打診買いが入っているが、一方では戻りをカラ売りする動きもあり、まだ底値確認までは至っていない」（米系証券トレーディング部）、「きのうの安値を瞬間割り込み、危うい状態となったが、そこから一気に切り返し、売り方の踏みを誘うパターン。先行きエネルギーを伴うかが問題だが、少なくとも、この間の下げ幅を考慮すれば、下値を売りづらい雰囲気をつくった」（中堅証券ディーリング部）との声が聞かれた。東証１部の騰落銘柄数は値上がり１４０９、値下がり２６６。出来高は２８億７万株。売買代金は３兆２７０８億円。東京外国為替市場では、１ドル＝１０７円台前半（前日終値は１０６円２８銭）で取引されている。

半面、年賀はがきの古紙配合比率偽装が判明したことを受け、日本紙<3893.T>、王子紙が昨年来安値を更新し、大王紙、北越紙もさえない。武田薬<4502.T>、アステラス薬、第一三共、エーザイ、塩野義薬などの医薬品株も軟調。野村<8604.T>、大和証Ｇが昨年来安値を切り下げるなど証券株の一角にも売りが継続した。個別では、０８年３月期連結で一転最終赤字見通しのハピネット<7552.T>がストップ安ウリ気配のまま。０８年２月期連結で一転最終赤字見通しが引き続き嫌気されたレナウン<3606.T>は連日のストップ安に値下がり率トップ。フルキャスト<4848.T>が一時ストップ安。０７年１１月期連結推定で最終赤字拡大のキャンドゥ<2698.T>や、ビクター、郵船航空、クボテックなども安い。
