２５日後場の東京株式市場では、上げ幅を拡大。平均株価は前週末比４１４円１１銭高の１万３９１４円５７銭と大幅反発し、２月４日の戻り高値１万３８５９円を更新した。シンガポール取引所（ＳＧＸ）の２２５先物売り優勢の流れから、後場寄りはやや伸び悩む場面もあったが、先物市場に３００～５００枚の大口買いが入り、上値指向を強めた。東証１部の指し値注文総計（概算）で「午後１時以降、急激に買いが増えてきた」（準大手証券）ほか、「マクロ系ヘッジファンドが先物買いに動いたうえ、主力銘柄への国内年金買いのうわさも出ている」（米系証券）といい、平均株価は一時４６８円高となった。値上がり銘柄数は全体の８７％強（前引け約８３％）に達するなど、物色範囲を広げ、ほぼ全面高となった。
市場からは、「ＳＷＦ（政府系ファンド）の具体的なニュースが出始め、先高期待がしぼみ難い状況。米系年金も外部環境の落ち着きを見ながら押し目を狙っているようだ。きょうの上げは先物主導で、現物の商いがまだ追いついていないが、１万４０００円台半ばまでの上昇トレンドが明らかになれば、裁定売買を通じて商いも活発化してこよう」（大和証券ＳＭＢＣ・エクイティマーケティング部・部長・高橋和宏氏）との声が聞かれた。東証１部の騰落銘柄数は値上がり１５１１、値下がり１６２。出来高は２２億４０４６万株。売買代金は２兆６２８４億円。東京外国為替市場では、１ドル＝１０７円台前半（前週末終値は１ドル＝１０７円３１銭）で取引されている。
前場に一時ストップ高に買われたあいおい<8761.T>、損保ジャパン<8755.T>をはじめ、三住海上、ニッセイ同和、ミレアＨＤなど保険株が高値圏で推移。ジャックス<8584.T>、オリックス<8591.T>、クレセゾン、アイフルなどノンバンク株や、住友信託<8403.T>、りそなＨＤ<8308.T>、三井住友、みずほ、三菱ＵＦＪ、新生銀、横浜銀など銀行株も一段高。中国ＳＷＦによる株取得思惑で国際帝石<1605.T>に買いが継続し、石油資源、ガス開、日鉄鉱、三井松島など鉱業株も上値を追った。
東建物<8804.T>、菱地所<8802.T>、住友不、平和不、大京など不動産株が一段高。住友重<6302.T>、菱重工<7011.T>、ＳＭＣ、ジェイテクトなど機械株や、商船三井<9104.T>、郵船<9101.T>、川崎汽、太平海など海運株も上値慕いとなった。アドバンテス<6857.T>、京セラ<6971.T>、東エレク、ＴＤＫ、ファナックなど値がさハイテク株も指数押し上げに寄与した。
個別では、古河電池<6937.T>が昨年来安値を更新し、ストップ高比例配分。トウペ<4614.T>、兼松日産<7961.T>、グッドウィル<4723.T>、シークス<7613.T>もストップ高比例配分。大東紡<3202.T>、ニイウスコー<2731.T>、三井海洋<6269.T>がストップ高で引け、宮地エンジ<3431.T>、小林洋行<8742.T>も一時ストップ高となった。
半面、個別で、０８年２月期連結業績予想を経常赤字転落見込みとした創建<8911.T>や、後場に０８年６月期業績予想の下方修正を発表したあいＨＤ<3076.T>がともにストップ安比例配分。ほか、最大１８８万株の株式売り出しを発表し、需給悪が懸念されたＴＳテックや内田洋、三井鉱山、ドワンゴなどが安値圏で停滞した。
