東京株式市場で日経平均は反発。前日の米国株式が上昇したことなどから買い先行で始まり、一時は前日比２００円を超す上昇幅となった。ただ、積極的な買い材料にも乏しい中で上海などのアジア株が軟調なことも嫌気され、場は伸び悩んだ。先物主導の展開が続き「先物が２５日線付近で頭を抑えられており、日経平均も上値が重くなった」（インベストラスト代表取締役、福永博之氏）という。
東証１部売買代金は２兆０８８５億円だった。東証１部騰落数は値上がり１１４５銘柄に対し、値下がりは４９０銘柄。変わらずは８５銘柄だった。
