東京株式市場は、日経平均が大幅反発。前日の米株高や円安を好感して、寄り付きから買いが先行した。午後は上昇幅が一段と拡大し、１万３８００円台で大引けた。市場では、年金や海外勢の現物買いが入ったとの観測があったほかこれまでの債券ロング・株ショートのポジションが反転しているとの指摘も出た。株価が大きく上昇し、短期筋が買い戻しを急いだという。「下値が限定的となってきたとの意識の強まりも相場を下支えした」（国内証券）との声があった。
東証１部の売買代金は２兆４４８１億円と２兆円を超えた。業種別では、保険や銀行、鉄鋼、証券などが堅調だった。鉱業や海運はさえない。東証１部騰落数は値上がり１３８８銘柄に対し、値下がりは２５０銘柄。変わらずは７８銘柄だった。
