【汎用合成樹脂の値上げ】
汎用合成樹脂の値上げが続いている。これは汎用合成樹脂の基礎原料であるナフサ市況が原油高により強含みにあることが背景。石油化学製品は、ナフサを元とするエチレンから生成。エチレン生産シェアは、トップが三菱ケミカルホールディングス（三菱ケミＨＤ、4188）、２位三井化学（4183）、5位昭和電工（4004）となっている。
【国産青果物需要の高まり】
消費者の安全志向、ブランド嗜好による国産青果物へ需要を背景に、伊藤忠商事（8001）は業務用国産青果物販売の新会社を設立した。ほかに農業を手がけている企業群としては、パソナ（4332）、キューピー（2809）、ワタミ（7522）、サイゼリア（7581）、シー シーエス（6669）などが挙げられる。キューピーは水耕栽培、パソナは発光ダイオードなどハイテクを駆使した地下農園を開設、ワタミは農地賃貸による農業や野菜の一部自社調達、サイゼリアも野菜を一部自社調達している。シーシーエスは農業向け発光ダイオードを手がけている。
【香料事業好調】
長谷川香料（4958）の07年9月期連結経常利益は、従前会社側予想63.5億円が64.4億円 、前年同期比＋9％。茶系飲料向け製品の増加によるもの。今08年9月期連結経常利益は68億円、同＋６％と好調見込み。関連銘柄では、高砂香料工業（4914）、曽田香料（4965）、東洋合成工業（4970）などが挙げられる。
【自動車用バッテリー値上げ】
自動車用バッテリーの国内主要メーカーが揃って値上げ表明。既に鉛蓄電池国内トップで世界２位のジーエス・ユアサ コーポレーション（6674）は自動車バッテリーの値上げ交渉を進めているが、新神戸電機（6934）や古河電池（6937）など他メーカーも原材料費で高い構成を占める鉛市況の上昇のため、値上げを表明している。
